Question Of The Week: Bio
I thought about converting my truck (1999 f 250 psd) to biodiesel capable in an effort to pay less at the pump and help out the atmosphere a bit as well. Is this an easy process or is it involved and will it hurt me down the road in terms of longetivity?
Thanks

Answer:
Be careful, Manufacturers will only approve B5 which is 5% bio. Anything over that will void the warranty. We've seen more harm than good at this point. I think with some better refining, the future holds a lot for the product. Steve Malone: Malone Diesel Service Austin TX 5-14-2008
Question # 46: Trans Fluid
I heard a long time ago of a guy who supplemented his oil with a quart of transmission fluid in the crankcase on a gas engine. Would something like that help a diesel?

Answer:
I would not recommend it in a diesel. It's ok to put it in the fuel as long the vehicle is not an emission compliant model.
